SELF CONSUMPTION (SELCO)
Apart from Net Metering, SELCO provides an alternative solution to generate electricity using your own solar PV system
Beyond Net Metering, SELCO offers another viable option for generating electricity with your own solar PV system to offset or lower your electricity bills. Under SELCO, you can fully consume the electricity produced by your solar PV system, but any excess energy will not be allowed to flow into the utility network.
If your solar PV system has an installed capacity of 425 kW or more, you must present a power flow study of the proposed connection to TNB. This study ensures the system’s integration does not adversely impact the utility network.
For details about licensing requirements, please visit www.st.gov.my.
To register your solar PV system installation with TNB, the following documents are required:
1.Self-Consumption Solar PV System Registration Form
2.Certified Documentation: Drawings, plans, and specifications, including any approved amendments or modifications, certified by a qualified competent person.
3.Power System Study (PSS) Report: Endorsed by a Designated Licensed (DL) person and submitted after the PSS presentation (if applicable).
4.Completion and Test Certificates: Form G and Form H as specified in the First Schedule of the Electrical Regulations 1994.
This process ensures proper registration and compliance with local regulations for your solar PV system.
